Live at Lost • TH Da Freak
With fourteen releases in eight years—ranging from canonical and experimental EPs to
B-side compilations—Bordeaux’s Thoineau Palis has built a vast discography, paying
homage to his unique rock pantheon of lo-fi geeks and beautiful losers.
Negative Freaks, the fifteenth album by Th Da Freak, marks a new chapter as the band’s
first album composed collectively by the five-member lineup, previously reserved for live
shows. Shifting from Palis’s solo compositions to a collaborative, free-spirited approach,
each musician chose their own instrument and setup, resulting in a raw, grunge-inspired
sound.
Recorded in just four days, Negative Freaks blends dissonant, proto-grunge influences from
early Mudhoney, TAD, and Nirvana with pop structures and surreal lyrics. It emerges as a
cohesive, bold debut for the band, set for release on March 21, 2025, through Howlin’
Banana, Flippin’ Freaks, and Les Disques Du Paradis.
